Polymathica Journal of Interdisciplinary Science (PJIS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing transformative research, high-impact empirical investigations, and integrative theoretical models across the natural sciences, formal sciences, computational sciences, and engineering disciplines. Grounded in the polymathic tradition of holistic scientific inquiry, PJIS serves as an advanced intellectual forum for natural scientists, mathematicians, bioengineers, data scientists, and materials researchers. The journal prioritizes scholarship that dismantles traditional disciplinary barriers to generate innovative solutions for complex, multi-scale scientific problems and technological frontiers.

Scope and Topics

PJIS welcomes original empirical research articles, transdisciplinary reviews, computational frameworks, and experimental validations across the interface of fundamental and applied sciences. Key thematic domains include, but are not limited to:

  • Complex Systems & Computational Science: Non-linear dynamics, network science, high-performance computing, mathematical modeling of physical/biological phenomena, and algorithmic simulations.

  • Bio-Physical & Chemical Interfaces: Biophysics, bio-inspired materials, chemical biology, molecular dynamics, and synthetic biomaterials engineering.

  • Data Science, Applied Mathematics & AI in Science: Scientific machine learning (SciML), statistical physics, topological data analysis, quantum informatics, and algorithmic optimization in scientific discovery.

  • Environmental, Earth & Planetary Sciences: Climate system modeling, geoinformatics, sustainable energy transitions, eco-hydrology, and planetary materials science.

  • Applied Engineering & Nanotechnology: Nano-scale fabrication, smart materials, cyber-physical engineering, photonics, and multi-scale manufacturing systems.

Publication Frequency

Polymathica Journal of Interdisciplinary Science (PJIS) is published triannually (3 issues per year: April, August, and December), operating an online-first continuous publishing model to ensure rapid editorial decisions and immediate global open-access dissemination.

Peer Review Process

To safeguard academic rigor, methodological precision, and scientific validity, PJIS enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening to assess transdisciplinary relevance, original scientific contribution, structural completeness, and adherence to international publication ethics (COPE guidelines). Manuscripts passing desk review are assigned to a minimum of two independent international experts representing complementary domains of the study. Evaluation criteria center on theoretical depth, methodological robustness, data reproducibility, clarity of presentation, and potential to advance cross-disciplinary scientific discovery.

Mission Statement

The mission of Polymathica Journal of Interdisciplinary Science is to advance global scientific discovery by publishing rigorous, polymathic, and peer-reviewed research, uniting disparate scientific disciplines into cohesive explanatory frameworks, and delivering open-access knowledge to address complex technological and natural challenges worldwide.
